It was at Morehouse College, which is a men's HBCU located on essentially the same campus as Spellman College, which is a women's HBCU. It began in Augusta but moved to Atlanta. Martin Luther King, Jr graduated from Morehouse too -- with a degree in sociology!
.) On our way there, we passed through Harlem, Georgia, which is part of the Augusta metro area. This is a mural of Laurel and Hardy and it is in Harlem because Hardy was born there. They have a Laurel and Hardy museum and every year at some point they have a convention, so people dressed as Laurel and Hardy invade the town! I must see that at some point.

.) Martin Luther King, Jr. Statue in front of the King Chapel.

.) The Dr. Howard Washington Thurman monument outside the King Center. He was very influential on Martin Luther King, Jr.

.) An old school classroom in the building the sociology department is in. I LOVE classrooms like this, especially with the color coded chair. It evokes a different spirit in the classroom than those with built-in technology (as most of the other classrooms in this building and on campus had -- you know, white boards instead of chalkboards and computers and projection screens built-ins and even touch screen projector SCREENS in some rooms).

.) Ray Charles' youngest son goes to Morehouse College and he donated this old tourbus! That's Ray on the back!

.) A mural on the wall of Fat Matt's Ribs in Atlanta.
