You may have heard of Werner Herzog's documentary, Grizzly Man (and if you haven't, you should check it out), and Animal Planet just created this show using the videos and photographs taken by the subject of the documentary, Timothy Treadwell, who lived among grizzly bears in Alaska every summer for 13 years or something and was ultimately killed by one of them on the day he was meant to leave the area for winter. He is controversial and always has been. He disobeyed park service rules, he is argued to have put the bears at risk by habituating them to a human (and ultimately, two of them were killed because of him, after his death), and maybe he was crazy, stupid, and/or had a death wish. Regardless, though, he produced works of art as far as I'm concerned -- his videos and photographs are absolutely beautiful and simply breathtaking. The whole story and his interactions with the animals, even if frightening because of their casual nature, is touching.
Here is the final shot of the 8-episode series. Tim's words etched into the sand alongsside bear footprints.

Here's a shot from one of his videos.
